Gutter and Downpipe Installation

Gutter installation is decided in the first hour, before any gutter goes up. The fall, the number of outlets, and where the water is discharged determine whether the system works. The gutter itself is the easy part.

Our Process

Fascia condition first, then the fall, the outlet count and the discharge point. Those three decisions are made before anything is fixed, and they decide whether the system copes.

Why Choose TurboMax

We install gutters as a drainage system rather than a trim detail, which means we care where the water ends up and we will tell you when a downpipe is in the wrong place even though moving it is more work for us.

Fred quotes every job personally, with Thomas running the second team. Written, minimum 2-year guarantee, with extended guarantees available on request, and a 10-year service guarantee where the work is maintained by us on an agreed cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers, including the ones that talk us out of a bigger job.

What does gutter installation cost?

Run length and material set the baseline, then corners, outlets, downpipe runs and access height move it. Fascia replacement, where the existing boards have rotted, is quoted as its own line so you can see it separately rather than finding it as a variation later.

Do I need to replace my fascia boards at the same time?

Only if they have gone soft, and we will tell you honestly either way. Brackets screwed into rotted timber give you a gutter that sags within a season and loses its fall, which puts you straight back where you started. If your boards are sound we leave them alone.

How many downpipes does my house need?

More than most houses have, usually. A single outlet on a long run copes all year and then overflows along its whole length in exactly the heavy front you needed it for. Additional outlets are generally cheaper than a larger gutter profile and they work better. We size it against the roof area draining into each run.

Where should the downpipe discharge?

Into a drain, a channel, or onto ground that falls away from the building. What it should not do is discharge at the base of a wall, onto paving sloping back towards the house, or above a below-ground room. That single detail causes a large share of the damp walls and wet garages we are called to.

Can gutters be installed on a house that never had them?

Yes, and it is a common job on older properties and on additions built without them. The considerations are the same, plus finding a sensible discharge route, which on a house with no existing stormwater provision sometimes needs a bit more thought and pipe than people expect.
