What does roof coating cost?
Area is the starting point, but preparation decides it. A sound, clean roof is straightforward. A heavily mossed roof with cracked tiles, chalked surfaces and rusted flashings needs several days of work before any coating is applied, and that is where the cost sits. We quote repairs, cleaning and coating separately so you can see it.
Will coating my roof stop it leaking?
Not by itself. A coating over an unfixed leak fails quickly and hides the fault while it does. If your roof leaks, the leak gets repaired first and the coating then protects the repaired roof. That order is not negotiable with us.
Is high pressure cleaning safe on tiles?
Only at the right pressure for that roof. Too much strips the dense surface layer off concrete tiles and leaves the porous body exposed, which makes the roof absorb water and grow moss faster than before. We match the method to the surface rather than turning the pressure up until the dirt moves.
When is the best time of year to coat a roof here?
The dry months. Coatings need a dry substrate and curing time, so late spring through autumn is the window, and it means the roof faces winter freshly protected. Coating in June is how you get blisters.
What product will you use on my roof?
We will tell you specifically, in writing, with the quote, once we have seen the roof. We do not publish product names because different roof surfaces need genuinely different coatings, and naming one on a website leads people to ask for the wrong thing for their house.
