Waterproofing Bellville
Waterproofing in Bellville runs into a problem the newer suburbs do not have. A great deal of the older housing here was plastered with sea sand, and that means the walls arrived with their own salt content built in on the day they were finished.

The moisture source first, then the plaster, then paint. Never the other way round.
- 4Guarantee and follow-up.
Written, minimum 2-year guarantee, and Fred phones once the wall has had time to dry and prove itself.
Why Choose TurboMax
We check the outside of a building before we quote the inside, which on Bellville damp is where the cheap answer usually is.
Fred owns the business, quotes every job himself and is on site, with his son Thomas running the second team. He phones after the wall has had time to dry to confirm it held, and if it has not, we come back at our cost.
4.6 on Google, written, minimum 2-year guarantee, extended guarantees on request and a 10-year service guarantee where we maintain the work on an agreed cycle, public liability insurance, free inspections, and we work Sundays.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers, including the ones that talk us out of a bigger job.
What does damp treatment cost in Bellville?
It depends heavily on whether the plaster has to come off. Where the damp course has simply been bridged by raised ground level, the fix is largely external and modest. Where plaster is salt-contaminated and has to be removed and reinstated, that replastering is usually the larger share of the cost, and we quote it separately from the damp work so you can see both.
My damp has been treated twice and it keeps coming back. Why?
In older Bellville housing the most common reason is that the plaster was never removed. Sea sand in mid-century mixes left salt through the plaster, and salt draws moisture from the air on its own regardless of how well the wall behind it was treated. Painting or replastering over it produces exactly the failure you have had twice.
How do I know if my damp course has failed or is just bridged?
Walk the outside of the house and look at where the ground meets the wall. Paving, soil, gravel or a bed sitting level with or above two or three brick courses up from the original ground line is the giveaway. Bridged is far more common than failed, and it is a much cheaper problem.
I am in a sectional title block and the damp is in my unit. Who is responsible?
It usually turns on whether the water is arriving through common property such as an external wall, a roof or a parapet, or from within your own section, and schemes differ. A written report on where the water is entering is generally what the body corporate needs before anything can be decided. We work with managing agents regularly.
Do you work on commercial buildings here?
Yes. Office blocks, older commercial stock and light industrial buildings, particularly flat concrete roofs with parapets and sheeted roofs with failing fixings. We quote through property managers and body corporates as readily as through owners.
