What does liquid rubber waterproofing cost?
Area is the starting point, but the number of coats and the coverage rate are what actually decide both the price and how long it lasts. Preparation is usually the larger share on a sheeted or tired concrete surface. We specify coats and coverage in the quote, and we price preparation separately, so you can compare it properly against a cheaper quote.
Can liquid rubber be applied over an existing coating?
Sometimes, and only after inspection. It has to be established that the existing layer is sound, well bonded and compatible. Over a coating that is already lifting or chalking, the new layer inherits the failure. Where the old system has gone, it comes off first.
Will it stop my roof leaking on its own?
Only if the leak is a failure of the surface. If a fixing has corroded through, a sheet is rusted out, a tile has slipped or a crack is still moving, those get repaired first and the coating then protects the repaired roof. A coating applied over an unfixed fault is a cosmetic layer, and we will not do it in that order.
How long before it can be walked on or rained on?
It is touch dry relatively quickly and reaches full cure over a longer period, and both depend on temperature, humidity and the number of coats. What matters more is that it needs a dry window to cure properly, which is why winter application is scheduled between fronts. We give you the timeline with the quote.
Can you spray a whole sheeted roof rather than repairing it piece by piece?
Yes, and where corrosion is widespread that is often the right and more economic answer. The rust still has to be treated and loose material removed first, because coating over untreated rust seals the problem in. One of our Google reviewers had exactly this done, leaks repaired and the whole roof sprayed, in two days.
